The PRECOGNITION team (2023)

We were delighted to have members of our team attend the Schizophrenia International Research Society (SIRS) Conference this year in Chicago! Barbora and Giulia presented some of the first outcomes of the project and received valuable and encouraging feedback.
We’re especially pleased to see that the broader scientific community shares our commitment to advancing research on cognition in schizophrenia—a core focus of the Precognition project.

The core team and collaborators of the project recently gathered at the historic West-Indisch Huis in Amsterdam for our annual General Assembly. It was a productive and energizing meeting where we reviewed the progress made across all work packages, refined our goals for the coming year, and strengthened collaborations.
Many of the initial research efforts are now complete and moving toward publication—stay tuned for exciting results in the months ahead!

We’ve just published a new blog post introducing our project, PRECOGNITION—a collaboration between statistician Barbora Rehák Bučková and psychiatrist Giulia Cattarinussi. Our goal is to develop cognitive “growth charts” that can help track and understand cognitive development in people at risk of psychosis, much like how paediatricians track physical development in children.
In the post, we explain the motivation behind the project, the challenges of measuring cognition, and how normative modelling can help us move toward earlier and more precise detection of cognitive impairments in psychosis. You can read the full post here.
Thanks to Barbora and Giulia!
